I've wondered this for a while and have tried searching but dont exactly know how to search this specific topic. So here goes. Can just the tach from either the digital or analog jdm s13 clusters be swapped into the usdm digital cluster?

Please don't flame. either help me or dont post.

I have a JDM 9k RPM tach in my car with no modifications. Just drop it in the USDM cluster and you're good to go. And as far as crossing from Analogue to Digital clusters, there are some fitment issues, otherwise it will work. Dave Coleman from SCC put a JDM DOHC tach in his SOHC HUD cluster.

Search for using J30 tach also. I've heard you can use them.

Yeah it can be used. Just make sure you have a JDM SR Tach and not a CA Tach. I made that mistake long ago. CA Tach uses a different Tach signal.

I used the whole jdm gauge cluster and took it apart and put in the American mph gauge. I know taking something like that apart is intimidating but once you get inside of it its way simple.
