I've got a 1990 z32 tt with a 5 speed. i drove it yesterday and it drove just fine, parked it in reverse and popped the hood to hool up the battery charger, walked inside for a few hours and when i walked back out it had rolled forward about 5 ft into a fence. all forward gears work fine, but i have no reverse at all. the clutch has released almost all the way at the top since i got the car about 3 months ago. i havent drove it much. it also feels like the clutch has a little air in it. what do you guys think it is? clutch or did something in the trans come loose? any help is appreciated!

It sounds like there's an issue with the engagement on the gears but I'm not too sure on what it could be precisely. I've asked for a little but more help.

As far as the trans goes, sounds like it just dropped reverse. Unless it's an odd synchro problem, the trans may need rebuilt. It's usually cheaper to buy one from a parts car in that situation though.

As far as the clutch releasing at the top, there's an adjustment bolt on the pedal. Turn it clockwise to make the clutch disengage sooner, and counter clockwise to make it disengage/engage more towards the bottom of the pedal travel.

Side note, I live literally 15 minutes from you, and work in Athens. Small world.

No, I live in Ardmore. I work in Athens though.

As far as manifolds? Good luck pulling that without an engine pull. I think it's been done before, but I'm pretty sure an engine pull is easier. Which is kinda sad IMHO. Why would you need to remove the turbo and manifold? I put my friend's dipstick in with the engine installed, manifolds and all.

i havent even looked at it to be honest. i might be able to fish it out of there and fish it back in there. holler at me sometime. [email protected]. im new to zs. when i got it it was running 14 psi and after i built the engine i cant get it to pull more than 9. and the dip stick problem. also ive got another z that i done a tt swap in and it wont build hardly any oil pressure and the passenger side cams sometimes make a ticking noise and i cant get it to hold the intercooler pipes on.

Ooof, are you sure everything is routed and wired correctly for the boost? Do you have a boost controller of any kind?

And funny story, my old roommate just called me from vegas and told me the dipstick tube that we fished in with the engine in the car just popped out while he was checking the oil. He's gonna fab a bracket to hold it in place.
