Ok, been helping a friend of mine trying to source and eliminate a minor issue. I have been reading and researching for 3 days now with no success, and figured it was time to ask a community that is more familiar with the z32.

Description of the problem: Z32 (90) TT 5-speed

Car has intermittent weak/slow start when coldOnce warm car will idle between 900-1k rpm smoothlyAfter a short drive (less than 2k yards) it will begin to stumble (feels like operation on 5 cyl.) between 1100 and 2000 rpm, but only on light progressive acceleration and only once its warm. Under hard acceleration its fine. Also at a consistent rate while parked and at idle, it seems to drop a cylinder (timing is almost consistent with AC turning on and off, about 30-40sec between its cycle) TO clarify it will idle fine for about 30-40 sec, then seem to drop to 5 cyl. for 10 to 15 seconds.

Things that have been checked:

I have gone through the 90+ checklist over and over again.TPS is at .42v at idle and 4.17v at WOT/also swapped to be sureInjector click test has been performedMAF has been tested and swapped to be sureCoils have been testedTemp sensor has been replacedhave checked all clamps and hoses from turbo to TB'swe tested a few other electronics that were suggested (my memory sucks and dont recall exactly what they are) but seems everything is checking out and testing just fine.

What we have found: possible cause?

turbo on passenger side has a bad seal and oil is getting into the TB/BOV/ICBoost is holding steady at 11psi (not sure if that is correct?)Vac is at a steady 11 in/hg (i though it should be between 15-20?)ECU is showing intermittent code 34(TPS?)

Were just trying to figure out what would cause hesitation/stumble as if A/C was kicking on and off but only at idle and between 1100-2k rpms..and why it would feel as if it lost a cylinder?

any ideas or suggestions would be excellent..still doing as much searching and testing as possible, but I'm not familiar with the Z, hate me Im a Toyota guy

it was a couple of things actually..there was a heavy build of oil in the right bank intake tract, pointing to a bad seal on the turbo(we knew about this from the start), and fouling the plugs for shorts amount of time. on top of that the maf was starving for air due to a horribly dirty air filter and oil deposits that were being blow from the BOV directly on to the filter element.

end culprit of the entire mess, bad turbo seal..the tricky part was, there was no smoke from anywhere and no oil spots/drips. it wasnt till I had removed the nose panel and revved the engine to redline and blew oil in my face.

the maf was cleaned, and bov was turned to face downward, car was driven with a different filter and performed 10 x's better, but will need to rebuild or replace the turbo, remove the smic and all the pipes and remove all the oil.

there is still a slight hesitation once oil pressure is built, but seems to perform just fine under boost and at higher rpm's once the spark plugs are at their hottest point..but I think the owner of the Z is going to sell it and take a different direction.
