Hey Guys, I have a 90 TT 300ZX automatic (unfortunately). It has just 77,4xx miles on it running stock turbos with 0.038 orfice boost jets. I have 440cc injectors (370cc is stock btw), upgraded stock replacement SMIC's(all aluminum), Nismo Adjustable FPR(set to correct fuel pressure), Z1 Motorsports ECU reflash, and full exhaust(dp's, test pipes - no cats or resonators, magnaflow mufflers), Glowshift boost gauge.

I've replaced the following parts:
-New NGK Sparkplugs (x6)
-New MAF
-Used TPS from Z1 Motorsports (tested good)

I took the Z up to Best Discount Brakes & Mufflers/ Extreme Motorsport (by BassPro on Campbell) and had a boost leak test performed on it. He told me no "boost leaks" but I had a leak in the tube leading from the MAF to the turbo inlet. I checked it out and found nothing.

I've wire tied and checked all the vacuum hoses and I've also checked the engine harness to the best of my abilities. I have also managed to by-pass the knock sensor with a 1 megohm resistor since the knock sensor is located under the lower intake plenum.

I haven't performed a compression test yet but I do know that all cylinders are firing cuz I can turn them off one-by-one using my computer software and can hear/feel the difference in the idle.

Problems
-Only running 6psi (Safety Boost)..I think....
-Idles up and down and steadies out sometimes
*Sometimes is fine and other times not
*Tried adjusting the idle via TPS and IACV several times and have gotten it right but will later change itself.
-Sometimes is cuts out before reacing 6psi and other times it will go all the way to 6psi w/o cutting out.
-Sometimes smokes and sometimes doesnt (dunno if its oil from the turbo or just running rich)
-Will develop idle issue after reving and sometimes it will die .
-runs rich and sometimes the timing is off a few degrees

Thats all I can think of at the moment. I also have been using my BlaZt Software on my laptop to monitor things such as TPS voltage timing rpms and what not. I use my boost gauge to monitot boost and vacuum just to clarify that.

I'm also going to post this on NicoClub and maybe twinturbo.net btw. I thank everyone in advance for their help/advice/support. Thanks!!

Have you checked the ECU for codes? If not, do that first.

ive also checked codes at 2k and 3k rpms. also just to throw out there My oil pressure gauge only works half the time. i know its getting goood pressure cuz i can tell when its working but then sometimes it doesnt read a freaking then. and the stock boost gauge did recently stop working on me after installing my aftermarket boost gauge and all i did was "T" of the factory hose..

did you recheck that vac line? possible vac leak anywhere in either vac line?
vac line off at the boost soleniods? tested the boost soleniods?

if you are only getting 6 psi then either you ahve a boost leak or the solenoids must be open, if they are open why? either the ecu is telling them to open (knock code) or they are bad, and it's very unusual for them to go bad much less both at the same time, and I'm nto sure but they might fault open meanign a loss of voltage to theat particular circuit caould leave them open

Where are the boost solenoids located and how do I check them?

there si one on each side, the vac lines coming out of them leads to the wastegate actuators so finding them is pretty straight forward, testing, see if they are closed when the car is running, if they are open check fr voltage at one or both leads

Ok thank you! Will check that in the morning and see what up with it. Will let you know later what the results are
