It's been a couple years since I lost the transmission in the Q. Since then it has sat in the corner waiting to be revived. I have decided to get her back on the road by late June.

Before:

Engine Maitenance/Restoration (Chain Guides, Injectors, Harnesses, Hoses, Etc.)
Impul 17s
JIC FLT-TAR VIP Super Low Coilovers
SPL Tension/Toe/Tie Rod Ends
OEM Pads/Brembo Rotors/Braided Lines
Couple more small things.

I also accumulated a few things over the last couple years:

'93 TCU
R32 GTR Differential/Subframe
Z32 Calipers F/R
Nissan President F/R Chuki (Mid Years) Conversion (Half rail cut complete w/ brackets)
Stillen Intake
19" Carlsson 1/12 Wheels (Rare JDM Carlsson Lexus PCD)

(Wheels are going for silver powdercoat this week to tone 'em down a bit)

I know how NICO is, so I'm sure I'll catch (more) hell for this, but the transmission is actually going to be the last part installed (along with a new oil pan). I am going to knock out the rest of the suspension, my painter will shoot a fresh coat of Super Black (along with some bodywork here and there), and then it will be sent off to my trusted (Q45 experienced) mechanic.

In an effort to motivate myself I dropped some cash on some undercar goodies:

SPL Traction/RUCA/Solid Subframe Bushings
Moonface RCAs
Energy Suspension HyperFlex and Lower Control Arm Kits
R1 Concepts (Centric) Z33 Track F/Z32 R
Axxis Delux Pads F/R
Z32 conversion lines
Nankang NS2 215(F)235(R)/35-19 tires
Powered By Max Adjustable Wheel Spacers/Spline Lugs/Valve Stem Caps
Greddy R32 GTR Differential Cover
Moonface Magnetic Differential Drain Bolt

Stay tuned...

Thanks B-o-B for sharing the information. Nicely prepared post!

It definately looks like a great project -- so by all means show and tell us all about the process.

Here's definately interested in the SPL - Energy Suspension upgrades.

Check the tire load ratings to see if they are adequate. You can go a lot wider, at least with 18" wheels.

Car: I live/work in Vietnam, currently a 2010 Chevy Captiva. My Dad used to have a 1991 Q45 that he had handed down to me. My mission is to get one to Vietnam.

Mate. Excellent work. Especially with the Korean Pres on the back. How much investment would it take to have a '90-'92 restored and reliable?

true to form, this is taking longer than expected.

stripped the sheetmetal again and started sapping over the brackets from the president cut.

got the subframe done, minus the differential. spl traction/ruca/toe/solid subframe bushings, energy suspension lca/knuckle/differential busings, moonface rca, and some rattlecan. eventually i'll drop it again and have everything powdercoated/plated.
