90 Q45 misfiring - update

I finally did what folks @ NICO advised me to do. I took out the MAF sensor, and hosed it down carefully with CRC MAF Sensor cleaner. To my untrained eye, the sensor looked clean. However, I noticed the top 1/3- a semi-halo - of the mesh screen was a a medium grey color that did not come off in the spray, while the rest of the screen was silvery. I also put some dielectric grease on the connector, which looked in good shape, tight fit. After waiting a couple of hours for things to dry, I reassembled everything and went for a test drive.Things were better but not as good as usual. Now I'm wondering if I'm heading in the right direction, but the the MAF sensor needs to be replaced entirely (the grey color is not good?).Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.Gabe.
