90' Q45 - gas leak?

when i had my engine swapped from my 91 to 90 body the mechanics took about a month to figure out why the engine wouldnt start after the swap but eventually my uncle helped me fix it but anyways since the swap i believe they tried switching fuel pumps etc to find out the problem but i have had a big smell of gas in the car, any suggestions? thanks

If the smell is strongest in the back seat or trunk then the o-ring for the fuel pump assembly (located on top of the gas tank) is not seated correctly
