I have a 90 Q45 and I was wondering what the third link's job is as one of the suspension components. Also I had my bearings changed and I'm still hearing a whirring sound in the front. On the right side front the car has a vibration at around 30-40 mph. I had the upper control arm replaced and the strut. Also more thing, does the dealer sale you the hub with the bearing inside or should I take the car to a shop where they press it out? I believe my power steering rack maybe going out as weel would that have anything to do with the whirring sound? I currently have 20 inch wheels on the car and my tires are 225/35/20 toyo proxes 4.

Well I need to replace the upper link on the driver side but I had the car alligned and it drives straight when I take my hands off the steering wheel but I still feel vibrations. As far as I know there's no rubbing going on but I saw another Q on the road that had the front passenger side low like the suspension is out and thats what I think my Q looks like as I'm rollin down the street. Clearance is fine. I'm thinking that the reason for all these problems is because the suspension isn't up to par and that the tires should be 225/45/35 because I hear alot of road noise.

I've got no problem with the big wheels... but, YIKES... those tires have to be WAY under the load rating required for a car the size of the Q. I'm no tire nazi...but, that seems a bit frightening for something that is being driven often.

Impossible to accomplish with worn out upper links.

Read Q45tech's posts about alignment, especially with regard to achieving 0° thrust angle.

I not sure people understand the concept of camber, caster, abd toe curves.

How much and what direction the numbers change as the body rolls and dives or lifts during various manuevers.

They get all fixated on static misalignment numbers even with correct loads [in seat] at alignment.

Use a protractor a length of twine and a weight to see the gigantic amount of camber GAIN as you turn the wheel.

Caster changes also as does toe from the load stresses things a alignment cannot show you.
