90 Q acting up?

so im cruising home the other day and i look down at me speedo and it read zero while i was doing about 40 the rest of my trip the speedo was completely out. then i started loosing my power steering not completely but was beginging to get very stiff. let it sit over night and the next morning it ran find. anyone know what may be happening here? any help would be great

Happened to me just like that on my 90 Q too. I found out the problem by looking at the posts. Most likely your amplifier on the back of the speedometer is out. I bought a used instrument cluster, pulled the amplifier off and installed it on the back of my cluster so I could keep the correct mileage listing. Biggest headache was pulling the cluster - just take your time and don't force anything. Seems to me there was even a post about how to pull it.
