So I have been unable to drive my Z for the last 4 months... had a major issue where it would miss, sputter, and die. Ended up putting a new Injectors, PTU, CAS, IACV, Air Regulator Valve, Fuel filter and Fuel Pressure Regulator on it as well as a few new vac lines. Finally it runs good and my idle is finally back to where it should be. But now I have a new issue.

Car is nice an smooth at idle, off idle is smooth, but once I hit 3K RPM's it is as if VTECH KICKS IN YO! It is a while new car after 3K. I have no clue what to look for now. I hit up google, but every issue I found there was for bad injectors or coils, or basic hesitation or missing... I dont really seem to have that issue. My car seems great, just low on power until 3K.

Any Advise?

Check all your connections and make sure they aren’t green if they are get some electrical cleaner and a small flat head screw driver is what I used. Check the ptu, coolant temp sensor, maf, injector connectors, IAACV connections (these are usually pretty bad but easy to clean with plenum pulled) mine is still doing this after I cleaned all of those but it did help

Yea, i have cleaned all sorts of connections, replaced a few. This car is fun... Fix three things, find something new to fix. Drove it to work, 180 mile round trip today and it ran great, just is lacking power at low RPM. I have to rev it to around 3500 to pull away from stoplights. Its kinda embarrassing...

Take a look at your VTC solenoids and connections.

Ok. Googled it. watched a couple youtube vids of noisy VTC's. Huh, My car has made that noise for the last year that I have owned it! Oops...

So now Im looking for a set of gears and new solenoids. Saw them on either z1 or concept Z. Gears were 650 and solenoids were 450. Good lord... I love this car when it works, but when it dosent I really hate it. :)
