90 m30 issues

just got me an m30 and had a few issues.

anyone know anything about a digital climate control? mine doesnt work and i'm looking for some tips.

if anyone knows anything bout m30 issues, please drop some knowledge.

What year? I'm curious if its similiar to the J30 climate issues ~93

Whats wrong with the climate controller??? Does it just not come on, or does it come on but not do what you want it to do.

well its a 1990. it doesnt come on at all. I want to start rippin the dash apart.. but maybe i can find some info from everyone here.

Have you checked the power and fuse to the unit?

Its possible that the unit is dead and you may need another one.

I'm not familiar with the M30 so I'll let those who are chime in. The M30 was never sold up here.

Hey drift.

The M30 climate controls are known for heading south. Before you remove it try a hard blow to the side of the console. This worked on mine for a while(very scientific) I finally replaced mine two years ago with a used one. try http://www.car parts .com for $50. The new units are very expensive. Try a search in Q 45 column, I read a post about a company who rebuilt the units I believe.

He is referring to the Q45 forum, there is a person out west, jerry Tucker, who rebuilds the 90-93 Q45 climate control units...

His contact information is on http://www.q45.org and they usually cost about $100 to rebuild.

I doubt theyre cross compatible (maybe? never really thought about that) but i bet they could be rebuilt in the same way.

the interface probably are, but maybe the circutry might be similar. if mr tucker's soldering and crimping, he might just know enough to fix it. i'll look for him.
