90-97 hardbody 1 ton?

now i have read somewhere and have heard that they exsist but have not actually seen a hardbody 1 ton. does anybody know if they are infact out there. if so does anybody have any kind of pics or info on these trucks. thank you for any help or info you guys can offer.

They do exsist.They were called a cab and chassis.The front end was a stock D21,with a dual wheel axle and thick stacked leaf springs out back and no bed mount towers.

yeah thats a good question what did they use for motor in these trucks. i also don't recall ever seeing a dual wheel axle hard body truck. are they a rare model?

they used the same little engines as found in the regular trucks.

I believe the dual rear axle was an H233B variant. KA24's and VG30s were the engines.

What year is the truck in the picture. it looks like an early to mid 80's 720. thanks for the pics though. if i can find them again, i found some pics of a hardbody dually. i'll try to post them but they're not that good. if anybody else has any pics that would be great

Yes the Hardbody 1 Ton did exist with a full box, but they were rare. Most of the time they were sold just like NM50 said..."Cab and Frame". Many of them had flat decks or small cubes installed. Others had campers grafted on them just like the same era Toyota Pickups did.

The scale model company called Lindberg actually made a kit of the 1 tonne Hardbody complete with box, dually wheels, roll cage and fire extinguisher in the kit.

I owned a 1986 Dually, my friend now owns it. I'll see if I can get pics someday.

ya my neighbor has one its a 3/4 ton the only difference is that its got stiff springs and it a long bed
