The sunroof hinges to my OEM sunroof deflector has just suddendly broken off as I was closing the sunroof. Specifically, I'm refering to the two stainless steel + rubber hinges on the sides of the sunroof opening that facilitate the folding of the OEM wind deflector. The plastic portion cracked as I closed the sunroof, so now the sunroof could not be closed completely and automatically because the built-in deflector is standing upright. My workaround is to get out of the car, hold the deflector down, and awkwardly reach into the car to hit the switch in order to close the sunroof. I suspect that the hinges did not pivot as it should and in the process did not fold down the OEM deflector which effectively cracked the rubber pieces. Was I suppose to put on some special lubricant application to keep it working on a regular basis? More importantly, does anyone have spares of that particular part that you can offload for a price?

Lithium grease in general works well for the rails.

Please complete your profile so we know model and year of your Q45.

That's only good for the rails, but where it got stuck and eventually lead to the cracked on the plastic part of the rail is the rubber/plastic joints that pivot the OEM deflectors. Any one got those rails a spares for a '91 Q45?
