Has anyone ever swap seats on their '90-'93 Q45s with the later year leather seats that belong to '94-'96 model years? As you are all aware, the original model year front leather seats has a tendency to rip and crack faster than any injectors needing replacement, so I was thinking about replacing my horrible front seats with the '94-'96 leather seats instead. Besides, the '90-'93 seats I'm able to find at junkyards are not in decent shape either since most have cracks and show signs of eventual rips. Is this a recommended procedure?

1990 Gray, black, and blue seats can still be good today, IF they had leather treatments every 6 months.

Anyone who bought white/cream/tan lived to regret it.

Tan is exactly what I have, and you're right about the worn condition. But this seems illogical, since darker colors potentially absorb more heat hence increase wear and tear regardless of leather conditioner treatment. What gives?

i can honestly say the grey seats in my 90Q are almost perfect, nearly flawless. must be a combo of the color and the original owner kept it in the garage a majority of the time (first 10 years).

The color of the dye has a great deal to do with ultra violet absorption.

These things have been known for 50 years........red/black caddy seats in convertible vs white seats.

Ever wonder why desert nomads wear black?

my 92's are like new. I had the windows tinted by Tint Master seven years back, right after I bought it. I garage or use a front window screen when I park. I also do a complete interior clean with saddle soap and McQuire's Leather conditioner every six months.

The center arm rest came apart recently ... paid a guy $50 to cover it with a leather pad the same color ... otherwise no problems interior wise.
