Since my laptop is out off commission I have no place to write down the modifications I want to do to the Q45. So I figure I would post on NICO so I would not forget and hopefully generate some more ideas on this topic, inspire people to try it themselves....

So a friend told me that he was used to controlling the windows from the center console as well as the door mounted switch. And I used to want a 1988-1989 Firebird GTA, And that has center console mounted switches for both windows among other great things. So in the spirit of making my car more like the car I wanted before I got my 1991 Q45 and to make others happy I am sure, I will see what I can do to get the drivers window control to the center console.

Hell I will see if I can make all the windows "auto down" on the Q45 after all its a power window AMP that controls that function. And after opening one up yesterday to verify its condition I noticed its just a circuit board with a couple of relays and a Integrated Circuit.

I can't making all or even just the drivers window "Auto down" from the center console.

I can how ever respect the fact that the original designers of the Q made it a drivers car. In that respect they mounted the lock switch closest to the driver and not the passenger, among many other things.

So Things to do:

If possible make all the windows in the 1990-1993 Q45 "Auto down"

Relocate the "Lock switch" to another place on the shifter bezel.

Control the drivers window from the center console.

I am sorry 1994-1996 Q45 people you have a body control module so its far harder to do I think.

Its all do-able, although i believe you will have to use a auto amp assy module for each window. Because its the IC's on that unit which measure when current draw increases (as in the window hits the top/bottom, the motors current draw skyrockets) and then stops the auto down function.

As for the other two things, a matter of moving the switches and some wiring. Nothing hard at all.
