There are annoying black plastic clips that hold the fiberboard covers in place over the headlights and between the radiator and the hood latch on my Q. The dealer says that they are $2.42 each(!), but he can't even obtain them. I can't help but think that they are a common enough item that they must be available as a generic item.

Does anyone have a source for these annoying objects??

ThanksKen K

Yes, similar in style but the ones under the hood are smaller in diameter and not as long.

There called screw fastener cowls and I believe Joe has them for $.79 each with the NICO discount. I think those are it. I've bought them from Joe in the past.

I will give Joe a call. I figured if they were $2+ that he would not be able to do much but $0.79 is not unreasonable.

Good work on the name. I hadn't a clue!!

I get them in 5 packs from Joe. Get the trunk ones too as additional shipping is negligible.

If you need them immediately then there's a chance that your local auto parts store in the "Help" section has something similar. Autozone, Advance etc. Beware though that they will not be genuine Infiniti parts and that dramatically increases the chnaces of your car spontaneously exploding.

LOL

If anyone looks under the hood of my car youll notice theres only about 4-5 of those stupid things because i hate them... They strip out very easily, i would much prefer to use a small plastic screw instead of those hell-clips.

I used these once they all stripped out and pissed me off...The part # should be good when you call up a parts store Partsamerica shows some.... Work a lot better than the &$*%$*^%#$#@#@screw thing since you pull up on the middle button with a tack puller or something. Cheap too!!! $5-6 a box !!

My car hasn't blown up or started on fire yet. So these must be approved by the Infiniti gods (the real ones not Brian) since I felt the rain of blessings once they were in.... EDIT:One of these ought to work fine. http://www.dormanproducts.com/...=Body Fasteners,Specialty Rivets&st_amount=0&end_amount=999999999.99&start=36&vfrom=&prev=yes&vnext=yes&category_list=1324:314:0

I edited those out and found the right ones (actually several)

The previous ones you push the pin all the way through (disposable), for mudflaps and mud panels, etc.Let you fingers do a little walking with those part #'s and the rest is history...

They even have the exact replacement just in case Maxnix.

Thanks. These look pretty good.

Looks like Kragen is where to find them. I will call around.

I'd try a local parts store (I suppose it's different here in the sticks)...just call and ask if you can order Dorman/Motormite body fasteners.

My local place has a lot of them in stock, but you can probably get them to order them with upfront payment.

I threw my box away and put them in a parts organizer (anal) or I'd have the P/N# I used.
