I'm trying to find ball joints for my '90 Q45 without having to buy the control arm assembly

I have not seen or heard of aftermarket ball joints for a Q45. How did you wear them out? Normally the inboard rubber bearing goes first.

Not a real good idea to just replace just the ball joints. The older nissan max had aftermarket ball joint from napa and others of the sort. By customer request I installed a set. Thay did not fit tight into the hole and worked out. Had to mig weld 4 spots around the joint(removed rubber boot). 3 months later the customer came back with a noise , bushing on the control arm wore out. Just spend the 120.00 or so and do it right. Don't be penny wise and dollar foolish.

Just like the upper links and tension rods wear the rubber out so does every suspension arm plus things like kingpin and wheel bearings.

Fixing the front suspension [getting things at 120k back to new for the next 120k miles] is relatively cheap [parts cost compared to MB, BMW or Lexus].
