90 300ZX backfires and hesitates turning over

Hi from Illinois
I'm sitting on a 90 300ZX NA. Just replaced blown engine with a JDM engine from Japan. It started but sounded like a miss fire, and got to the point were it won't start at all. It backfires and will hesitate turning over sometimes. All the coils are new, plugs new, and ptu swapped injectors as well. Any ideas what the issue could be?
