My car sputters at an idle and sputters even more when I open up the throttle. I smell alot of gas, seems like its running real rich. When im running it sputters when I hit the gas and sometimes the car doesn't even repond when the gas is pressed. Now sometimes it runs fine and then all the sudden it starts to sputter again. Im thinkin its a ECU issue or some kind of sensor issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of a nice shop in the kansas city area please let me know because I would really like a pro to look at it. Thanks

[QUOTE=Doomed2Walk]Hey, I got a S14 swap into my 95 and my car idles a bit rough and when I try to accelerate quickly the car will sputter, it also happens a little when cruising. However, when I accelerate slowly or when I deccelerate it runs fine. Anyone know what could be causing the problems?

I am having this same problem but there is nothing in his thread.

And you forgot to list the most important thing... engine management. Please don't say the stock computer with an AFC.

On the other hand, your symptom sound like a misfire. Very easy to confirm.

yeah what air/fuel controller you running? my car did the same thing due to bad maf wiring. can you rev past 2.5K RPMS? when my sr was in safe mode due to bad maf wiring, it would smell rich, and sputter alot with a really bad throttle response.

Check your plugs too....If they are fouled it might not be the exact source of your problem but it'll contribute to it.
