I bought my 1990 s13 a few months ago for 400 $ i have no pics right now but it has almost no body or interior damage, excluding leaks in the trunk hatch and moonroof and the dash having a few cracks and some audio wiring problems. The motor on the other hand has alot of problems. When i bought it the car wouldnt go in reverse, it is a 5-speed, it just wouldnt slide in the slot for reverse. Apart from that the radiator had a good sized hole in it that was patched with jb weld, which popped off after about 150 miles of me driving it. At the time i was driving far from home close to a walmart in the winter, so the only thing i could do was try and repatch it, and in the combination of the cold weather and my impatience of trying to fix it the weld didnt stay for very long and i kept having to repatch it about 5 times on the way home, and it didnt overheat really bad till the last two times. Now the car has a blown valve cover gasket some ticking noises, and some of the weld material in the radiator. It has alot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust(aftermarket) and right around the valve cover gasket, and maybe some from the head gasket. Alot of the motor bolts are stripped and the wiring for the car is in pretty bad shape. But the body and interior is in very good condition with minimal rust. I'm not really interested in fixing the sohc, so i was wondering does anyone have some suggestions on a ka24de or an sr swap.... i dont have very much money and i will be doing the swap myself, which is why the dohc ka seems more appealling to me. I'm not looking for a very powerful build, just balanced with some boost for fun. But turbo charging the ka has a lot of custom work involved from what i hear. Anyone know of a good way to find some dohc ka's ive looked just havn't found many whole motors and trannys.... any suggestions are appreciated along with info on finding a ka24de. Also anyone got any thoughts on the 300zx and 2jz swaps?

I think we'd all appreciate it (you as well, as it will minimize flaming and generate a much better response.), if you could go back over that with some punctuation.

From what I can tell you're asking for suggestions on swaps?

If you do a search these same types of questions are asked constantly.

It's really a matter of opinion. You're going to get mixed answers, and really the only good choice is the one you make.

I still rock my single slammer.
