Hi I have a 1990 S13 SE. The driver's side window is all messed up. When I push the down button, it goes down fine but when I try to put it back up, it wont go up at all, I just hear the motor going. I need to pull it up to "help" the motor. When its half way up, and put a small pressure on the window, it just falls down. I dont think its the window regulator because I check it and it was fine. I also got another motor and tried it, but it still doesnt go up. So I'm guessing its the relay switch? Because on passenger side window the motor stops going when the window is all the way down, but on the drivers side, the motor just keeps going even when the window is down. Anyone know whats wrong? Thanks

hmm .. replace your motor, see if that is the problem, if not.. replace the relay.. its the same thing with starters and starter relays.. if its not the starter, its the relay.. try it, if not, just as NISTECH, he should be able to help you

good luck! Wes

Sounds like a bad internal motor. Odd that you got another and its stil doing it. Was the replacement motor new? If its not the motr then its gotta be the regulator. especially if you still here the motor running.

The problem is not technically the motor, but it is a part that is built into the motor housing. The motor is not connected directly to the gear that can be seen sticking out of the housing. Rather, there is a rubber bushing that is used to transfer the motion. When this rubber bushing wears out, your exact symptoms appear. The window can be moved down, but not up. Also the motor still turns even when the window is all the way down because the bushing is too weak to stop it. Unfortunately your replacement motor seems to have a worn rubber bushing as well. It is possible to take the housing apart and replace only the rubber bushing, but I don't believe that Nissan sells this part individually.

OK thanks for the reply guys. I'll try to go to the junkyard and see if I can get a motor.

If that doesnt work, I was panning on doing a power to manual window swap? Anyone ever done this before? If so what do you need? Besides the window regulator, and door panel? And what do you do with the wires? Thanks again

I thought you bought another motor already? was it used? Thats what I was refferring to when I said the internal motor had problems. The rubber disc is considered part of the motor. It seems odd if you already put a motor in that its rubber would be bad. It would probably be cheaper for you to buy a new motor then go through and convert it to manual.

Yes I already tried another motor but it also didnt work. Im gonna see if I can go to the junkyard tomorrow. I dont know what rubber disc your talking about. Is it inside the circular thing where the gear is?

Yeah it is. You have to pry off the cover to access it.

If you get one from the junk yard, make sure they will replace/refund if it doesn't work. Last time I got a window motor at a junk yard, it's rubber bushing was worn too.

I have the exact same problem with my driver side window. A similar thing happened to my passenger side window and I took it in and they just replaced the regulator, but it might have been a different problem. Here is a good auction for one...... the guy has decent feedback.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1
