90 240sx Oil Slinger Uh-Oh

Ok I'm sorry if someone notices I also posted this same question in the Silvia or 240 fourm, but I'm desprate. I pretty much finished my timing chain on my car yesterday, but I had something left over. Someone on the other fourm called it an oil slinger, its a big washer, with a lip that goes behind the front cover on the crank snout. Can someone here please tell me if I NEED to put this in, all I gotta do is put oil and antifreeze in the car, please tell me the news I wanna hear lol

You should not have extra parts after installing a timing chain.
