90 240sx HB- No ECU Code, Engine troubles.

My friends 240sx isn't 'dumping' smoke but it can fill up a room pretty quickly with it. Its pretty clear- gray/white smoke. Did tune up- new oil, the sparks smell really fuely when we pull them out though- Pulled off from the cat and back so its running straight off header. New O2 sensor, Used Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner and it just isn't running right. Starter just seized up today too so we gotta get a new one of those.

And how much roughly for a 90 240sx motor shipped in the U.S. How much he looking at for getting a running motor?

still no luck. Any ideas on what to check? Pull off exhaust header?

bump- Still problem. No rainbowy color in coolant. No leaks that I can tell. Will get it on a lift and check it out underneath. Still compresses fine. Pistons kinda have a little clicking noise; not sure if its injectors or not. Its hard to explain the smoke smell- Never really smelled it before. I'll get a survey of what it smells like. Could faulty sparks/wires/distributor cap make it smoke? Again, the mass air flow sensor was cleaned with the spray stuff and there didn't seem to be any crusty or anything on it. I'll put on my MAFS on his car and see if it changes. Starter went out recently too. Any ideas would help!
