90 240sx dash Gremlins
OKay I've searched the forums and I'm stumped. MY girl bought a 90 240sx all stock. The problems are driving me nuts! Her dash has gremlins bad. The dash lights work when they feel like it as well as the digital spedometer. Also, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, Her drivers side "mad Mouse" doesn't seem to work either. Anyone have a clues to why her dash is possesed?
Welcome to owning a S13. The digital speedo is a VERY common problem. Generally can cost $200 to fix, or just find an analog cluster. As for the HVAC lights, you have to pull it out, clean the wiring points and mabye change the bulbs. Also, pull out the drivers side kick panel and look for a little white box. That is your TCU (Timing Control Unit) It controls much of the interior electrics. It is attatched by a few bolts and a wiring loom. Pull it out, pop it open, and look for burnt soldering points or the like. While you are in there, also check the interior fuse panel and look for blown fuses. Here is a pic of the TCU:
