alright first i just wanna ask if anyone has heard of using a tractor battery in a 240.. cause i just got this coupe and the previous owner was using one, the battery doesn't seem to be the problem just curious if anyone has done this?

Now the problem I'm having is that I go to start the car, key in everything turns on just fine seat belt goes back, then I try to turn the car on and everything just dims out like it lost power and the engine hasn't even moved a bit no crank or anything. So i checked all the fuses, none of them seem to be burned out and I checked that button around the clutch pedal to see if that was it and nope, even pushing it in with my finger made no difference. I thought ok maybe the battery doesn't have enough power to get it to start so i get a buddy of mine to try to jump me and we connect the cables and so on and nothing has changed. So i dont really know what it can be.. Anyone have any ideas what i should try?

A CA has been swapped into it, but I got that all running and starting up and drove it around a couple times before this problem happen so I don't know.. On the other hand there was some engine start button that the kid before me had wired up, which I'm not really sure how he wired it and i only found out what it did when I started messing with it and clicking it and then i held the clutch in and click it and the it started my engine, later on i did it one more time to show a friend then drove home. The next day when i went to try it and start the car is when the problems started so idk if maybe it has something to due with it or not.. maybe the ecu got fried cause how it was wired..? I don't really know I'm an idiot when it comes to electrical stuff.

I know its long but I dont know what else to try.. And I figured the gods on nico could help me out

might be the start button. I would get rid of it.

Agree that could be the problem but could that really keep my car from starting now.. I would think that would just maybe mess up some wires or fuses but I don't see any of that.

Could it possibly be the starting.. Its something I haven't tested but I don't know what else to try.. any suggestions at all would be helpful.. thanks.

If you have multimeter, check for voltage in small wire going to starter. (unplug the connection near starter). you can also connect this wire directly to positive terminal of battery to see what happens. However, first hit the starter to see if that causes the starter to work. if it works, you have bad starter.

even though you have power to get the seat belt to go back--I bet there is not enough Amps to turn it over--try jumping it again--(when you hook power up to your car connect the + to the + on the battery and the negative to the chassis ground).

p.s. get rid of of that remote starter junk!

yeah i was thinking that it might be the starter as well.. but i don't have a Multimeter to check it or possibly the connections coming from the battery i guess I'll go try to check that out..

and rotorimp yeah i will get rid of that start button i found out today that it was wired directly into the wires from the key ignition with no relay or fuses or anything. As for trying to jump the car again I heard that if it is the starter that could possibly cause more damage to the start by trying to jump it, but idk i'll probably end up trying to jump it again. Since im desperate and dont know what else to try?

thanks and i'll post when results after i try these things.
