90 240sx auto trans issues help please???!!!!!!!!

hey do you why my 90 240sx ka24e sohc automatic trans RE4R01A will not shift in to overdrive or 4th gear after it warms up.20 mins after that it kinda will if you feather the pedal i have looked for answers i have even replaced sensors. help please if you know anything i cant afford a 5sp swap right now could it be the inhibitor switch?

I have a 92 240sx with automatic/overdrive and I had problems with it shifting hard from gear to gear. I used some contact cleaner to clean the plugs/connectors on the trans. control unit and also the main control module. I sprayed the cleaner into the connectors then plugged and unplugged them from the modules 2 or 3 times. Now my transmission shifts as smooth as it use to. The unit in my car was located on the passenger side below the glove compartment against the side of the car...Oh Yeah, remember to disconnect the battery before you start.

4th gear on ur transmission should be overdrive i may be mistaken but either way it sounds like ur torque converter clutch is not locking up or your cluth packs may be slipping. have u ever had any trans service done on it since u have had the car?
