Hi All,

For the past 4 months, my AC has worked great (granted, only used it a few times). This past week, it stopped working. Here's some possible clues:

1) AC compressor does not engage at all when AC button is in.2) Checked fuse (ok) and replaced AC relay3) The little rectagular green lights on the Heating/AC control panel buttons no longer light up. 4) Ventilation control for floor/defrost/vent does not work at all. Seems to come out everywhere when blower is on.

Any clues? Thanks in advance

pull the relay and jump the two terminals that are close together(not the two that are spread apart). does that make the compressor run?

Thanks for the reply Chris. Here's what I've got:

Before I posted here, I checked the AC fuse (under the dash), I mistakenly replaced it with the xtra fuse (which was blown) thus causing none of the rectangular lights on the heating/AC console buttons to light up. I discovered my mistake replaced the blown fuse and now all the green lights work (as do the air directional controls) except the green light on AC button.

I did as you suggested and jumped the terminals of the AC relay however that has no effect at all. Any other suggestions?

"Typically when the light does not illuminate when its pushed it means the system does not have enough freon to operate(pressure in the system is too low)"

(quoted from NISTECH, but it was common-sense to me)

r-12 is really expensive, so when u go & get it checked for leaks, think about getting it retrofitted w/ r134A

PS:my car is still running on r-12 w/ no leaks!

if you jumped the relay and the compressor did not come on its a simple problem in the compressor circuit. iirc you have power, relay, compressor, and ground. check the power and ground at the compressor with the relay jumped.
