wow. 300k. do a compression test and see what your numbers look like. and post them up. how well was it maintained? did you get any records or anything? how does it run? i dont know about turboing a 300k motor without a serious rebuild, thats just me though.

ehh thats what i was asking about to rebuild it be4 turbo, but it only had 1 owner and kept all records .. in 98 the clutch seals and such were replaced. i'am thinking of just ordering a SR20DET but it sounds like i need a lot to install it

I would rebuild for turbo on the sohc engines anyways.

The rings lands go out on a good amount of boost. If you do a rebuild the stock rods shoudl be fine but the pistons need to be ousted for aftermarket. A reabuild is alot cheaper than a SR and you get to keep your A/C if you have one for your car without making a custom bracket for the SR.

And I know your probably gonna say A/C slows me down but eh some people need an A/C.

It would best in your best interest to do some research. You can piece together a turbo kit with watever yo uwould like to have. And as for the rebuild, you need to rebuild the motor. Take it to a shop, tell them you want a rebuild. They will know what you mean.
