90 240 with SR20DET cant get the autometer tach to work???

I know my stock 90 240 tach wont work with the sr20det cause my stock engine was the sohc ka24e so I installed an autometer tach and it does nothing. Is there something I need to do to make it work???

Where did you wire the RPM signal from? I ran an autometer tach and I took the signal off of the ECU. I think it was the yellow line with a red stripe? Not sure someone correct me if Im wrong.

Also, if you did wire it straight to the RPM wire and it still doesnt work, Ive noticed that lots of times the RPM wire comes loose from the ECU. I dont know why this is but on 3 240sx that Ive had a tach problem, the wire was loose in the blue ecu connector and wasnt making contact with the ECU pin
