Hey guys, my 90 model has been acting kinda strange of late, dying when in neutral and such. So, I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, and cap and rotor button. Now, the car won't idle at all with giving it gas. I can't find any vacuum leaks (although I'm going outside now to check again) and it's throwing codes 12 (air flow meter circuit) and 41 (air temp circuit). Not sure what to do as I am only marginally mechanically inclined. Any help will be most appreciated.

Okay, I must have been half asleep a minute ago. The car won't run without giving it gas was what I meant to say. (sigh)

Air flow meter would be your mass air flow(maf) meter from my guess(what other air meter would there be?).It is very hard to "check" for vacuum leaks, but you can spray some carb cleaner around all your hoses and anywhere air might be able to get in/out and if the car starts to bog then you have a vacuum leak. If the MAF is messed up, that could definatelly cause problems. Try unhooking it (big grey meter bolted onto your air box, unplug the sensor on the top of it, should pull right off) and see if that helps any.

Thanks for the quick reply man. I already cleaned the connectors on the maf, but it didn't do a thing. I already have the AIV off so it's not going to be the problem. As far as checking the vacuum lines, I just visually checked them and felt for cracks and splits. The motor only has about 8000 since a rebuild and this is frustrating me really bad. By the way, wher in East Tennessee are you? I can't seem to find very many 240 enthusiasts around here.

And also check to see if the little EGR diaphram is stuck open, its the little ufo thing towards the back of your intake manifold, you need to push up from the bottom (might be hot) and that should cause your engine to sputter.

Well, replaced the MAFS and no go. It tries to idle a little better, but still no good. It did get rid of the code for it though. It still reads the temp sensor though.

Oh yeah, AIV is no longer on the car. And, how hard is it to squeeze the EGR control valve? I could barely get mine to move.

shouldn't be hard to get the valve open on the egr. Smells like you're getting warmer...wait...
