89sx uneven hatch

hey whats up i recently pick up a 89sx hatch thats iv been working on bringing back up to par and before i can start the body work im having a problem with the hatch its uneven the left side closes fine but the right you can see almost two inch gap wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how i go about fixing it the right way

ur finger is two inches big? wowi got the same thing except mine is even...i think havent looked into fixing it yet though

lol well its more like a little over a inch and my left side is normal i thought maybe it had to do with my latch being messed up but now i got the latch closed and locked and the problem is still there my trunk is getting soaked every time it rains and i start body repair in 3 weeks and wanna have this fixed so i can start removing all the rust

Chances are its leaking water because the tailight seals are bad, both 240s Ive owned did this.

My hatch didnt shut right before and I found out it was because someone shut something in it and it pushed the mettal under the rubber stoper down about a 1/2 in. I used a slide hammer and brought it back out.

mine isnt leaking waterbut can u give more description on how to fix the uneven hatch? pics?

Buy a new one. Mine was warped, I had to get a new one from the junkyard.

well i dont see it being seal considering there's over an inch gap preventing the trunk from even hitting the seals the left side is dry for the most part has anyone else had this issue and fixed it with the trunk deck being higher one side side then the other

Maybe re-align your hatch? Was it ever in an accident?

not since iv had it but there is a new quarter panel on the right side and signs of bad bondo work on the back right corner how would i go about re-aligning the hatch
