894/893 foglight reverse bulb mod

I was curious to see if anyone has tried to mod the reverse bulb and but a 894/893 fog light bulb in. I plan on trying today unless anyone has tried it and had heat or clearance problems.

When we purchased our rogue it had some really dark tint so backing up at night is difficult. I have read that LED's have varing results at to how much light is actually sent behind the vehicle.

Hmmm...very interesting... I currently have 20% tint on my windows and the brightest LED back-up bulb from V-LED's (about $70 I think), and I can see behind me just fine since it is brighter than stock, however, it's not like stock bulb + no tint.
Be sure to let us know how it works if you attempt it!
One thing to check on though would be the fuse for the fog lights and the rear lights. If the fuse for fog lights is a significantly higher amperage, then chances are the bulb may be drawing too much current.
But I've seen quite a few HID conversions for the back-up bulbs, so I'd imagine fog light bulbs would be fine?

Ok I did the driver side and while brighter and sending more light behind the rogue it is hard to capture with the camera. The one thing it does that I do like is spread the pattern way wider with the new bulb. I guess it is worth it to do the other side. 13 dollars and about 30 min. Just be careful of the gasket.

Could you park the car close to a wall, let say 15 ft, and put in reverse, in order to see how much light is spread on the wall?
Looks like an interesting mod.

I still have to finish the high power leds conversion.
