Ok, it's at this dealership that isn't too far from me. Me and my father went there to check it out. They want 1600 for it as is, and 2400 inspected. Well, the car is not worth any of those figures. The engine ran fine, was kind of impressed...could use a new clutch, but nothing to worry about right away. On the inside, the usual wear on the driver seat, but it looked ok, but it smelled of mil dew in it, it was a strong sent....so I know that can't be good. On the outside, it could use a paint job, but, it was hit in the rear, the bumper is pretty smashed in the back, also it seems that the hatch is not sitting properly...hence the mildew, and the rear fenders are smashed...well, not smashed, but cracked forward from being hit in the back. O, and there is an exhaust leak..not too big a deal, but something to mention...so what I want to do is call them up, and offer them $800 as is...think they'll go for it?What do you think estimates for the damage it has are running?here's a pic of the car:

You got some big warning signs. The mildew smell hints it have may been in a flood. The seller wants $800 more to get it thru inspection. That implies you'd have to spend some significant money to do it yourself. If the hatch was knocked out of alignment, the rear hit was pretty hard. Bodywork is not cheap, but it's hard to tell how much without seeing the damage. I'd pass on it.Good luck

Second what Bubba1 said. Find one in good condition for a little more money and save yourself a BIG headache.
