89 sohc ka24e cam issues

a friend of mine has a 89 coupe with a ka24e and he purchased a nismo camshaft straight from nismo it is matched duration 271* i think i know it's the more aggressive cam for the ka24e. Since install the car will not hold idle or rev much past 3000rpm. We swapped old cam back and everything was fine ran good.We reinstalled nismo cam and now it wont start.He has high flow venom inj. and a header with 3" going out and the ecm was remapped for the inj..Spark and fuel are present. Anyone have any clue as to a problem we are unaware of by using a higher lift cam?

there are two cams supplied by Nissan Motorsports. 270 and 292. The 292's require alot of work. JE pistons, Carrillo rods specific for this applicaiton, and have other machine work that must be done.

i just talked to him and it is the 270. idk much about the sohc but he is all but given up on it and i want to help him get it going again.It sucks to have my coupe in his garage workin on it and his is right next to it collecting dust.
