i'm confused.. So with the piping hooked up properly with no leaks, it runs terrible? But with the piping wide open to the air it runs great? Seems to be the opposite of what you'd expect.

I wonder if you have a bad MAF? But typically people who have a bad MAF have the opposite symptoms.. usually they run fine up to 3000 rpm's and then bad over that.

Everything you are talking about sounds backwards..

Can you double check the wiring on your MAF? I wonder if something is crossed up..

Wish i was more experience with SR motors and could help more..

Does it smoke when you start accelerating/hitting boost out the tailpipe? When you sit at a traffic light is it smoking at idle?? If it is an original T25 SR probably a bad seal.

Well boosting a t25 at 14psi is never a enlightened idea. 14psi with a stock t28 is still pushing it. That oil could very well be blow by as well. If i were you i would do a compression check first and foremost. If the numbers are good then do the turbo.

Your are having a very strange symptom. I have never heard of this symptom being associated from a bad turbo but anything is possible. Check compression, check turbo and check maf and see where your at when the dust settles.

And keep the t25 at 10/11 psi and the t28 at no more then 14. You could go higher but your are just pushing hot air, and will change turbos as often as you change oil.
