89 S13 Hatch for 1500???? does it worth it?

Ok here is the story! I have a 91 DA9 Acura Integra LS Hatch. It look like it just come out of thew show room inside and out. But The Engine run but it need rod bearing. So it make loud knocks when it starts.

This Guy want to give me $1000 for the car but he ask me why am I saleing it. I told him I am looking for another S13 240SX but I want a Hatch this time.(Since I already have a Coupe). So he ask me am I intested in his sisters 89 Hatch (AUTO):( But my GF need a Auto anyway. So I look at the car the body look great, Paint need antoher Clear coat or repaint. but no chip or pealing. The driver seat is rip where every 240SX rip on the rib part. And it need a new Exhaust system. Anyway He wanted 800 + my integra at first but I talk him down to $500+ my integra. Should I do it?:help

Hmm. Have you gotten an estimate on the engine work for your Integra? If your Integra is as immaculate as you say it is, it might be wiser to fix it rather than sell it. But are you buying the S-13 for yourself or your gf? You're not making that clear. The auto is a deal killer for me. An 89 S-13 is worth anywhere from $500 to $2000 depending on the condition and mileage. And by what little info you provided, it sounds like the S-13's a daily driver stored outside and the guys sister lets nature wash it as the paint is faded. I'd say check the S-13 a lot more closely, maybe have a mechanic check it out. See what it really needs before you jump and make a deal.

S-13's are great cars, but if they're not maintained well, can be just as much a lemon as the next car. So check it out.

Sorry about that!The Integra Needs a New Engine, Clutch and drive Axles! And it has 169.000 on the car.

The S13 has 105.000 miles on it! And I ran a car fax it say it been title 3-4 times!

Hmmm. well, the integra sounds like it's toast. Without seeing the S-13, it's hard to say. It doesn't sound like a bad deal financially, as long as it's in decent shape. But I'd still have a mechanic look it over. The automatic is still a deal breaker IMHO. I'd ask the guy the same question he asked you, why does he want to sell his sisters car?

his sister need a newer car. oh by the way the A/C does not work. He said it need to be recharge. But that mean I need to redo the A/C $500 that what it cost me to do on my coupe!
