i got a 89 hatch with a red top sr20 and we wired it up with the diagram for the inside and outside harness from heavy throttle and it fired up fine. few days later it started and bucked and rattled and now it will not start. so we checked the fuel pump fuse and it was good all wires are connected fine and still nothing so we checked the computer for burnt tracks and it checked out ok. but the car is still getting no power to the fuel pump harness in the rear hatch when the key is turned. if anyone can help plz let me know wht u think. its got a 255 fuel pump and it checked out fine to. we tested it on another 240sx. were going to test the 2 egi relays this weekend see if there bad.

Check ecu and your wiring again for the gray & brown plug by the battery.

u talking about the neutral safety switch we jumped it because it was auto and its now manual. i got wire connectors on all the wires so I'm going to go back through and redo them and soldier them for a better connection. but yeah it acts like it did before we jumped the safety it just cranks and nothing so im going to try it hope for the best.

No I wasn't talking about the neutral safety plug below the fuse box. I was referring to the brown & gray plugs beside the battery. May be loose wires.

Well first try to narrow it down to what system is not functioning. Start by treating this as any other no start condition and check for the basics.

Does the car crank over? If no, locate the fault in the starter circuit.

If yes, it isn't the strater circuit so check and:A) - Verify you're getting spark. If no, find the ignition system fault.B) - Verify you're getting injector pulse and proper fuel pressure. If no, fin d the fuel system fault.

Approach it like this and it will help out a lot.

If you need in depth help let me know what your findings are and I'll help more.

the fuel pump has no power in the plug in the rear hatch but has power under the hood in the fuse on both sides. it cranks but will not start because the fuel pump is not getting power or coming on. thanks for helping

So basically you're not getting fuel. Should check your wiring again since it's a new pump correct?

wiring was all resodiered the other night because i thought it was a bad connection in the harness but it still is not getting power(aka fuel)to the fuel pump wiring in the hatch.
