I have 04 g35, is it okay to put 89 octane gas?

Any long term effects?Any loss in horsepower?

I think you can GET BY with it in a sedan, but not in a coupe. Coupe calls for extra-yummy!

but, yeah, check the manual.

Oh, may also depend on how you plan on driving it....you going to pretend it's a hybrid? Or indy car??

Not sure about the sedans, but its recommended in the coupe... The manual says if you HAVE to use 87, only use it for a short period until at least 91 can be obtained. Is it really worth risking these great motors... Its only $4 more every fill-up... $4.00/gal x 20 gals = $80. $4.20/gal x 20 gals = $84. Is the $4 savings worth risk... Up to you

LOL

I'll just state that in 63k miles I've had no problems using 87 regular.

You can run 87 in the sedan, the GF's father only used 87 in his 03 and as long as you didn't get on it it was fine. In my new sedan when my mom and dad had to borrow it they put 89 in it, I noticed my MPG went down a few ticks, by like 1 - 1.5 mpg and I also felt a loss in power when getting on her. I hear this is because the ecu retards the timing for the lower octane. It really is just like $4.00 a tank full to put premium in so just use that if you can.
