Wipers move very slowly. I've disconnected the motor and cleaned the connector. You got any suggestions?

It probably has crapped bearings and corroded commutators after sitting for 10 years. On an '89 you should be able to disassemble and clean it if you can't get a replacement. Eurton Electric can rebuild it for you too, I'm sure (or they should have suitable brushes if you want to DIY it).

Possibility the wiper arm linkage is corroded. You can discount the linkage from the wiper motor to ensure they move freely OR... ....without removing anything...Take penetrating oil with a long tube and spray the linkage with and without the wipers moving. Possibility the wiper motor isn’t getting a good ground source. Check the connecting plug.

One last thought... Remove BOTH wiper arms... possibility the post that connects to the linkage isn’t moving freely?

I think the ground source comes from a plate that is attached to the firewall

I don't either, I'm not old enough to need one yet.
My cars have them, though.

I don't need wipers, but I was going thru thing and spotted the dirt, leaves and 15 year old sediment.

Ohhhhh, so your cowl needed a wiper-wiper.
I don't think the aftermarket makes any of those.
