i have a friend who has a charade with an idle problem. when it is warmed up and at an idle, it fluctuates up and down. it will be at normal idle and jump up and down at a steady pace to and from 2000 rpm back to normal. that is only when it is at idle. he said when he disconnected the throttle sensor it would steadily at 2000. i told him it just sounds like there maybe be something sticking or just need to replace the throttle sensor. what should i test and do to fix it???

replace the bearings on the hamster wheel.. Better yet.. That hamster is probably getting pretty old.. Not sure he can keep a steady pace anymore.

First check the wires to make sure they have a good connection. Check the voltage across the TPS.. if those check out.. replace the throttle position sensor.
