so im new here for one. im doing a simple swap into my 89 d21. im just going to drop a ka24e into it out of a 91 240sx. i already have the oil pan for it and im going threw the whole motor the bottom end has been rebuilt and bored over .030 but the main thing i would like to know are the mounting points for the engine mounts the same and does the transmission bolt up the same.

and for the transmission whats the difference between the truck version and the 240 version

thanks for any and all info and any other tips for the swap would be appreciated

I'm pretty darn sure the bellhousings are the same between your naps-z and the ka engine. Its good you have the oil pan figured out ahead of time. IDK about the motor mounts. Heres what I know about the trannys. The later HB's have fs5w71c trannys, while the earlier ones have another model, I forgot which one but the haynes manual specifies it. The fs5w71c's ratios are different between the 2wd and 4wd models. the 4wd has a 3.9? first gear ratio, and the 2wd has something like a 3.23 1st gear. Ratios for the other gears are also somewhat different between the two. I think the 240sx also uses the fs5w71c, but I'm not the freaking 240sx guru, so IDK about those ones.

I don't think i'll bolt up. It's been brought up in many threads before, so take some time and search this forum. I think at the very least you'll be fabbing engine mounts, replacing the ECU and wiring harness, and i'm thinking the bellhousing patterns are also different.
