89 Coupe, Sunroof broke?

ok im posting this to help my self, as well as my friend.

My friend just purchased himself a Nissan 240sx Coupe 5spd.

It has some serious electrical issues, through searching we have solved 3 of the 4.

Now, onto the fourth

The Sunroof wont open! It wont make a noise when you push the button. The Map lights dont work either. The Main dome light behind the sunroof comes on. Sometimes the driver window gets pissy with us. Sometimes it works fine, and other times it just wont respond to the button. We figure that part is lose, cause it jiggles alot.

So what could it be guys. theres not ANY power to that top area, with map lights or sunroof. All the fuses in driver kick panel are good, i pulled them all..so what could it be? 240sx gurus please help! They shoulda kept Z tradition and went T-Tops! kidding guys...please help!

It could be an electrical issue.

well, i figured since, the map lights dont work....and the switch to open the sunroof dont work...perhaps its....ELECTRICAL. Does anyone have any idea what fuse/relay/random electrical box that controls it?

Just follow the wires.

maybe the wires are melted. happened to me more than once and its a PITA to fix cause you haft to find it first then rewire it. good luck though and hope i helped!

I'm really hoping you checked fuses. If not then go and do that. This is also why SE models suck, base is just so much easier. We're dealing with 19 year old electrical systems, its going to suck.

^^yeah and if they messed with the wires that. they run to the left and down the a pillar, just test it with a multimeter and see where along the lines it's screwing up.I would be of more help but I can't think right now, lol too early.
