I'm perplexed by this problem. Here's the low-down.
Did head rebuild/timing chain, etc. Got car to run fine. Timing is set to 15 BTDC using FSM method.
Ever since rebuild, I have a 4500 rpm rev limit if I floor the car... Feels like a rev limiter/ignition cut/fuel cut/or something like that (sounds exactly like when manual cars hit their rev limiter).
89 240sx - automatic, sohc.
Checked ECU Codes: EGR & Vehicle Speed SensorChecked TCU Codes: Code 7 (Lock Up Solenoid)
For ECU Codes, I've had these codes before and the car would never limit like this.
For the TCU Code, this is the first time I've pulled them.
Did the FSM check for the Ground wire for the solenoid, which should read 2.5-5 ohms - I get 15 ohms. Don't know what to do next - perhaps drop the pan and check for loose grounds?
Also reset ECU and same codes come up again after a while.
I don't know if any of these problems even have anything to do w/ my rev limiting...
Limit happens very consistently -
In NeutralFrom a stopOn the highwayIn D2
All will limit the car at 4.5k
If I do half throttle, it will act normal.
Checked the TPS and default it is just under .44volts & max is around 3.94v via safc.
One of my friends said it might be the wot switch? How do I check this?
Any ideas???
