I keep finding a lot of early Q injectors with hard brittle plastic tops, making removal from the rail a PITA.
Not sure if this will help anyone or not, but I use a craftsman deep 10mm socket from the bottom and tap the injector out that way.
Its metal on metal contact so no damage to the pintle or its cover.

You can see the connector in the pic is beat up from my attempts to remove it from the rail without breaking the plastic.
Hope this helps those looking to replace injectors/injector o-rings with the fuel rail off the motor.
