Hey everyone I'm new to this website but will be here for a long time, especially when I get my 240. Anyways I was just wondering what some of the costs others have paid for a 240sx in good condition. I know someone who is selling theirs for $6000 but I'm sure he'll lower it quite a bit since he does have a few problems with it (rust). Well hope you guys can help out a guy in search of a 240sx.

um... more info plz.... such as engine condition, body, (you mentioned rust), transmission condition, auto or manual, trim level, mileage and such... if its a S13 I think it goes anywhere from $100 - $4,000 I think..... if modded more I guess. but dont take my word for it and also feel free to correct me anyone if im mistaken.

Don't you dare buy an old rusted s13 for anywhere near 6k!

I got mine for 2300. It's in fair condition, but I think I should have gone lower... :( Just take your time and get the right one. If I were to buy another s13, I wouldn't pay over 2 grand unless it was in great condition....

EDIT: But then again, I am in Houston, and we seem to have an abundance of all kinds of cars over here. That's why I may seem to be so stingy.. :D

Well it's been a long time since I looked at the car but his was an 89 240sx, I am hoping to get a 91 or 92 just because I don't want a car that will break down on me right after I buy it. But to get the specs on that one 240 I looked at will take a bit since it is in another city and and my sister's boyfriend was the one who wrote down the probelms( he probably threw it out). I do know that the car turns to the right on its own.

Zagarus I just suggest you go to local used car dealers or use the websites such as http://www.cars.com or http://www.autotrader.com and search for a local seller where YOU can go yourself and check out the problems and see wether the car is worth getting.

Also might I suggest, you get a car without a problem from the start... I know its very rare to find a used car that doesnt have any problems but I rather get little things such as power windows do not work for one side rather than having big problems such as timing chain.

Also, just coz the car is 91-92 doesnt necessary mean that it will be in a better condition, sure the 3 year difference can mean alot but it also depends on how the previous owner have taken care of the car. Now.. if you said you wanted a 91-93 (im just assuming you dont want the 94 since they are convertable... not that I dont like them ;)) because they come with DOHC engine, that will probably be a better reason.

WOW I feel so helpful now after typing this lol.

Thanks for your help, I just am really looking forward to getting my car, I'm hoping to have before I graduate, but that won't happen but i'll definitely have it by the end of summer. Makes me want to go watch initial D now! And to think I COULD have my car now if I didn't always buy so much other junk, why is it so hard to save money (sob).

Don't worry I'm not rushing, but yeah that convertible was over 12K, Scary huh? I saw how long it took my friend to get his car and he saw some pretty crappy ones that's for sure. Oh and he has a Mazda mx-6, bright red, one sweet ride.

Oh and it will be hard for me to get a car because of those things we call parents. I know they're right when they say finish school first but I want a car to go to school in and they always try to talk me out of buying one by listing down how much a car costs. It's really annoying!!
