car will start when it is cold but after it runs for a while and you cut it off it will start but will not idle. It just dies off and will not run. I've replaced the coolant temp sensor and radiator and thermostat. It also has new plugs, wires, pvc valve and fuel filter. I've taken it to 2 mechanics and it starts fine with them but when I get it home it does it again. Has anyone else had this problem.

I'm having the same problem with my 89. and my bro has the same problem with his 95 we both are stumped as to what it is. but we aren't really all that worred since it does start......however annoying and worry some it is. We both think its just something to do with the fuel pressure so we checked that its with in range, so we have ben stumped once again. we plan on tearing into it when we've finished replacing his transmission. so I'll let you know if we come up with anything

I'm getting ready to have my fuel injectors cleaned and hook my 89 up to a computer to see if maybe ther are some sensors going bad. I'll post the results. Does your car have the problem on a cold day. the reason that I ask is if it is cold I can go anywhere and cut the car off and it fires right back up but if it is 60 or higher it will not start until it cools

try your IAC motor Idle Air Control motor those tipically cause those kinds of problems like crappy idling and bogging and what not

maybe the starter/wires...

as temp goes up/ resistance goes down... maybe the wires in the starter/ or to the battery are too high once it's up to operating temps... <shrugs>

drive around until it produces the condition; THEN goto the technician & show it to them...
