I had a problem similar to that. I suggest checking your injectors. Could be loose injector just not getting enough fuel in, or clogged injector. if it's not injectors then it might be something bigger like compression in the cylinders? Maybe even something as simple as your spark plugs.

Ah this old problem. Same here. I agree with the other guy, start with the plugs, wires, cap, timing and CORRECT firing order. Check those sparks! You would'nt believe the trouble I had with the order. Then again I just started working on this car. Also, there is a way to check compression through the plug holes and its on here, just search it. I also ended up cleaning my MAF and replacing the TPS (throttle position sensor). I know this sounds kinda silly but check your exhaust, mainly your cat. Mine glowed bright red while I had this prob and eventually I hollowed it out because it was clogged to hell. Or you can replace it. I was just broke at the time hehe. After all that it runs great. How many miles you got on it anyway?
