ok here is the deal. my friend sold me an SR that ive seen run. he put 4,000 miles on it then wrecked it. engine still ran perfect just needed an intercooler. unfortunately im poor and cannot afford a FMIC. so i just put exhaust pipe there is this bad?

most importantly, the engine runs like a champ, until i rev it up, it wont rev past 2500 rpms. it just gets quiet like the injectors turn off or something. but it keeps running. now also i am having a problem were the battery wont charge. how many places should there be grounds? i found a stray wire in the engine bay that looks identical to the one that goes to the alternator. but i already have the alternator hooked up. it is attached to a plug that could also go to the alternator. but when i follow it i dont know were it originates. i have been 2 months looking for the answer for this electric problem.

wait, what? You're using exhaust tubing for a FMIC? Do have an actual IC and are using exh. tubing for the piping or what? Pictures please of IC setup and your wiring questions. Welcome to NICO btw. Hopefully we can help you find your answers.

were the FMIC is supposed to be, i used a piece of 2 3/4" wide X 34" exhaust pipe because i don't have money for an inter cooler. today im ripping the wiring harness out and starting over. i have no idea why there are 2 hookups for the alternator. im so lost and i dont know what to do. why is getting the engine in and doing an auto to manual swap the easy part???

You can find intercoolers quite cheap online (entire kits on ebay for $150). Cheap is better than nothing (i guess) Just running a pipe from the turbo outlet to the intake manifold will do nothing but destroy the motor if let it run. You will be pumping super hot air straight into the intake. The motor will detonate (and overboost if you have no BOV or bypass valve) and YOU WILL ruin/destroy the engine. Then you'll have no money and no engine, instead of just no money. Honestly, if you can't afford an IC set-up, you should sell the motor so you're not broke (and you don't break it), or you should side the car aside as a project and work on it as funds allow (aka do it the right way from the start). I could go on, but I'm not going to flame.
