Hey guys, I need some troubleshooting help or advice for an 89 s13 hatchback I'm wrapping up a 5-speed swap on.

The car is a base model and everything seems to work in the cluster except the speedometer. (fuel and tach work fine)

Here is what I have tried which hasn't corrected the non-working speedo...

tried 3 different SOHC clusters, all with same result.
Tried another of the same ECU (number 11) as a replacement --- no luck.
I checked the voltage from the speed sensor in the SOHC manual transmission at the E14 connector across the yellow/green striped wire to the yellow w/black striped wire and got increasing voltage (from .05 up) as gears were increasingly changed as the FSM indicates as a check for verification that the speedo sensor is indeed working.

It could be that the speedo in this car never worked and it could be a wiring issue as I hadn't seen the car run before as I just installed a replacement motor at the same time.

I've done numerous swaps, sr20dets, ITB setups, and dohc swaps in sohc cars, but I'm a little rusty as I haven't got to turn wrenches for a while with being in school, so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated in troubleshooting this speedometer issue.

Thanks!

nevermind guys.... made a silly mistake, but it may help others

I used a MT lower harness and had plugged the harness portion that had the speedo signal into the wrong plug.

the plug actually fit into 2 different connections and I had plugged it into the connector on the back side of the fuse block where it should have been connected to the one on the engine side of the fuse block in the pass front fender area in the engine bay....
