I have an 89' 240sx that will not pull until it hits 3000 rpms. It spits and sputters until it hits 3000 and then it launches and runs perfect beyond that. Even at WOT, it slowly accelerates and runs rough until 3000 rpms and then smoothes right out. It also idles fine in neutral and park, but in drive, etc, it misses and runs rough idling.

It has a brand new K&N OE style air filter, new TPS, new FPR, new fuel filter, new 02, new NGK OE type plugs, new wires, new coil, new distributor cap and rotor button. I seafoam'd it today and it helped a little bit, but still runs like total crap.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Oh, i need to add that it only does this after it has been running for a few minutes.

Alot of it is the EGR valve and the coolant temp sensor... I ran with both of those disabled and it runs remarkably better, but i also read somewhere that if the ECU detects problems in certain sensors, the EGR goes into a fail safe mode where it dumps a bunch of exhaust gas into your intake.. in other words, it could be ANYTHING...

However, it still doesn't like taking off at all.

Sounds like a distributer issue to me. Not a cap and rotor issue but an internal malfunction. If you disconnect the EGR system it will not cause a running issue unless the valve itself is stuck open. Have your timing checked before you go spending $$$ on a distributer.
